Hand stitched all silk Suzani from Uzbeksitan on a stunning light Sky Blue silk ground. This Aquatic themed Suzani contains 5 large medallions filled with fish in the "Circle of Life" or "Fish Pond" motif representative of female fertility, and 7 smaller medallions filled with birds symbolizing protection, and male virility. This exuberant suzani depicts fish, birds, Botem "teardrops", pinwheels, and scrolling floral motifs throughout with a delineated border of birds and fish. The silk threads are shades of blue, red, rust, salmon, pink. All the fish have different blue and red stripes.  Flicker stitches, add depth, and movement to this exquisite suzani.
